The hours I’ve spent skateboarding with my half-drunk punk friends in empty parking lots or behind weird industrial buildings have been some of the most important and formative times in my life. They’ve been the most… well, magical.

When I was a little kid, skateboarding sunk its hooks into my heart and brain, and it’s never let me go. There’s just something about it. Looking back, I see that the creativity and individuality inherent in the subculture have shaped my whole life. In many ways, they’ve come to define everything that I am, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
